major problem!! help!!

so i have to PTID-4005 power acoustik head unit. and have had it for a few weeks with no problems, then i hooked up my white face gauge to the same ground and ACC wire off the head unit to get the white face powered up. now i have no noise coming from the door speakers! none of them work. they used make a very very slight noise when on (but no music playing) now nothing. i used a circuit tester and used it on the back of the head unit, and all speaker wires have live connection. then took my door off and tested the tweeter terminals and there was no light on my tester! is there a fuse in the vehicle somewhere?? did i fry something when i hooked up the white face gauge?? please help, i just have no idea where to go from here.

Did you unhook the ground or positive cable of the battery before installing the gauge? Does the gauge light up?

no. i did not unhook anything. i just hooked the gauge straight up to the ground (from h/u) and ACC (from h/u). and yes the gauge works. everything on the head unit works, except the sound... its a dvd too, and it plays teh dvd's and SD card and radio, all with no sound or any kind of audio signal.

Might be trashed man. I hear they arent reliable at all. But might be an easy fix. Might of pulled a wire loose?

so your thinking it is the head unit?? but the speaker wire coming from the head unit is live (i tested it) and the speaker terminals are not getting a signal. so would that mean that somewhere between the head unit and the speaker there is a short, or a clipped wire??? are there any fuses that may have been blown or a wire harness that came loose. i was also trying to mess with my turn signal relay and was just being rough with all the wires that were near it, i dont know where or if there is even a wire harness to come loose. not very familiar with the inter workings of a vehicles electrical..

-if the speaker wires from the head unit are live, then is the head unit ok? or is that not determinable but the fact they are live??

always disconnect the battery. no excuse, no exceptions...

these things are a result. hope you get it fixed man
