MA Hard Kore 15 opinions

I currently have a pair of L7 12"s and I like how loud they are but Sq isn't very good.

I came across an MA Audio Kore15 for $150 and I'm wondering if this sub will be as loud as my kickers and more musical. I also want to know if I can get away with around 3.5 cubes.

BTW: I currently only have around 1000-1200 rms on tap @ 1 ohm and this sub is 1.3 QVC

I think I can sell my L7's in the box for around $350 locally

No one will be able to answer that to be honest. You will have to purchase the sub and find out on your own.

The MA sub is a decent sub and will perform rather well in a properly designed/built enclosure. However, the L7's can as well if the enclosure and install allow.

Rabbit, my kickers are in a prefab box. I think I can sell them for enough to pay for a box from you and buy the MA but I don't want to be going backwards if I'm better just paying for a nice box for the kickers.
Id get a new box for the kickers either from @pro\-rabbit ; or @double 07 ;

I think you would be pleasantly pleased with those L7s in a custom enclosure...
This. In a proper enclosure, L7s can get louder and sound better than what you currently have. They can sound pretty darn good actually. Also, the two mentioned make great boxes at fair prices.

The massive down side to your L7's is the required enclosure size if you go custom. If you do not have a large amount of space to work with, I would simply sell the L7's and get the MA and go with a custom enclosure then.

Those MA subs are very unappreciated around here. We used various forms of the HK and EHO subs from MA when we were sponsored by them many years ago.

I just measured my current box (outside dimensions including port)

32 L x 13.5 H x 17 W

and it is a little tight getting in and out of my trunk (00 civic sedan)

OK, ditching the MA idea.

I have a pair of old Planet Audio BB120's. I'm going to send one of them to SPL for a rebuild. I'll try it in an appropriate box to see how it does. From what I've read, I need around a 5 cube box for my L7's and I don't see that happening in my trunk so I'll probably just sell them in the box they are in. They really do get loud though for being in a smaller prefab box (my wipers dance) but the box seems to be tuned to high from what I can tell.
