MA Audio HK4000D powers on then goes into protection

i have a MA Audio HK-4000D amp hooked up to my 2 L7 15's it turns on fine and will bump a few times, then the amp goes into protection, i am thinking its because i am in need of a big *** Cap, because the few times it will bump my lights in my escalade dim like crazy. please help me out, i am wanting to get my subs pounding ASAP.

Thats probably your issue. That amp is a current hog. Low voltage is sending it into protect.

lol OP you need some serious power supply to run that amp... I have had 2 in the past and they are great performance for the price, but beefy alt and batts are a necesity...

i have 6 SVR batteries laying around, i just dont want to have to add them unless i absolutely have to. think the 100 farad cap will be enough?

I run an IA 40.1 with a high amp alty and 3 batts and i still want two more batts to add.

i got them wired to 1 ohm, problem with adding the batts i got no good place to put then in the caddy, and i dont wanna cut shit all up.
