MA Audio HK4000D powers on then goes into protection

I had mine a couple years back and I believe at 18V 1 ohm i was seeing 4300ish give or take

Interesting, I'm going to clamp the HK and the visonik and see what i'm seeing for power.

I sold my HK4000D a few months ago. Someone clamped it on 18 volts @ 1 ohm and it was getting roughly 2500 watts, pretty sad for a modded amp.
Have you clamped yours to see it getting 5K, or was that a guess?

my 2500d beat one of Bob's ma4000d's by .3db @ 1 ohm, and .6db @ .5 ohm.

Maybe they light up @ higher voltage but I was not impressed.

it does "shine" if you are gonna call it that, at higher voltage... thats were i saw more gains with more batts obviously... just a daily app at 14v with this amp is pretty useless.. yea the amp is cheap wattage for what it does.. but you make up for the rest in the extra 19 batts it takes to keep it above 12:laugh: still liked mine though fun amps to play with

Facepalm. Hey OP when this amp fries dont blame it on the amp. Blame yourself. Do some research on a amp before buying it, next before installing it.

And I clamped mine at over 4000 watts as well. On a 18volt setup.
