ma audio hk-4000d problems

I just installed my hk400d and this issue doesn't happen to mine...what is somwhat weird though is there the amp seems to retard or cut out part of the output when I start to turn up the gain....almost like an anti-clipping function...

is this normal?

the remote wire has nothing to do with whats happening. the amp powers up and all eliminating the remote wire. the amp its self was most likely damaged during shipping. and since you are sure hes a great seller (which he seems to be) its insured and a refund is in order. hook up old amp if possible to defiantly remove wiring the issue;)

If the protection hasnt been cut out then its an anti clip feature. I tried blowing a 4ohm mid on mine and it would just cut out, when i had my brahmas on there they didnt cut out at all.

MA did a good job with the protection, thats why most people cut it out, cant clip the amp and you cant drop it down very low.

Hi guys my HK4000D was not clip i had it at .7 straight out the box s np but the 4000d need a good EARTH the only time the amp will do dat you are not getting anoth voltge to the amp if it is not on 14.4v when it is playing it will gut off. are you using for street bass or spl? how many battries do u have? and did u do your big 3? and what ohms are you going to

Supa, what ohm load was your Brahma showing to the MA?

I've tried a 1 and 4 ohm load on my MA (I have a Brahma on it currently as well) and the output still seems to be retarding...

Can you explain the anti-clip protection circuit...does the MA only take 2 ohm loads? By the way this one was modded to go down to .5 ohms...

Right now I'm guess it's the remote relay thing...I've searched and can't find the mod for this though...

Thanks!!

I had 2 dual 2 15's so it was 2ohms mono.

The anti clip is just that, when you send the amp a clipped signal it cuts on and off.

The amp itself still stays on.

I didnt do that remote thingy, never had a problem

Great thanks. I do have a dual 1 ohm sub to try on it next.

What was your battery setup for your MA?

So you could play yours full tilt with no output retarding?

Returned your PM mmata... MA's are picky about remote voltage matching the input voltage... if they fluctuate much more than a half a volt the amp will cut off. Part of the elaborate protection built into these amps. If this isnt the problem we will get it figured out... dont worry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
