LP vs. Full???

I have a Fosgate Punch 360a2 amp and am going for SQ. Does it matter if I run my amp on lp or full? I am new at this, so dont know the difference besides one lets vocals out and the other doesnt. I like the sound better when on full, but have always thought you were suppose to run it on lp. Any help is appreciated?

LP - 80 hz or so.

If you like the sound of full better than LP for 10" subs I'd be curious to hear what the rest of the system sounds like.

Maybe I dont have it tuned right on LP. LP lets bass only through, right? I know with it on LP there is a big void it seems, with full it sounds more like a surround system if that makes sense. I am new at this, so there is a big possibility that I have something messed up. Besides subs and head unit, everything else is factory. Any suggestions?

It also depends on whether or not your HU has xover settings...I have both my amps on "pass" because I control everything with the HU (can change it anytime I want that way)

On full it will sound like surround instead of bass, due to the subs outputting the higher frequencies also. Subs can output these frequencies but they dont sound good. Subs are made for bass only. When you set it to lp filter, make sure you adjust the screw for the lpf, make it about 80hz. What that means is that it will filter and only output below the point you set. If you were to set it to high pass filer (hpf) it would filter out only the frequencies above the point you set. Another filter is band pass, but you probably dont have this, and what that does is essentially combines hpf and lpf and it creates a range of sound available from a low to high you specify. And full is when you set it to allow any sound to go through. Most of the time you put it on full when you have something else that will filter.
