i havent bought ANY equipment yet but my goals are to get a crazy heavy bass but still have it sound flat/equal throughout the car

1. is there any spec. that shows how hard a bass hits? i thought the excursion might be a sign, and i mean how it hits not how loud

2. theres got to be some kind of magic ratio for the speakers either in sensitivity or watts or something to make sure you system sounds good instead of all bass

welcome.

being loud and clear requires several steps

1. dedicate a hundred hours or so to the installation. this includes wiring, fabrication, and acoustical treatments to get sealed airspace for the front speakers. deadening is also required if you want a flat response (to tame resonance)

2. buy quality equipment including amplifiers and front speakers (components). a grand is a good budget for amp and front speakers. high power handling speakers with integrated cooling designs and 200W RMS per channel on the amplifier output are good places to start.

3. the sub(s) should be in an enclosure that is well integrated into the vehicle and has been built custom for the vehicle.

4. the vehicle's electrical system has been revamped to include new AGM batteries and H.O. alternator(s).

the best loud and clear vehicle i've done was $7k in BNIB equipment and materials and over 100 hours of labor.

my car is loud and clear with under $2k in used equipment purchased over many years with over 400 hours in labor and experimentation to get budget equipment sounding great.
