Low Level Vs High Level

Ok please excuse my ignorance as I am sure people have discussed this before. I looked through the google searches read some things but I am still not sure which one to choose. I come here in hopes of some wise man guiding me in the right direction.

So I have a 2014 Subaru Impreza with an aftermarket HU installed, Pioneer AVIC 8000-NEX. I will be installing my amplifier which is a JL Audio 700/5v2. I have Stinger Speedwire to run in the car. Initially I was going to go the low level (RCA) route but then I was reading more about the different hookup methods and started to become more confused as to which I should install. My overall for this is sound quality. I will be adding sound deadening and a digital sound processor down the road.

I am the kind of person that likes to do things right the first time, even if it's a pain in the butt or costs me a little extra. I will be installing everything myself but I would like to bring it to someone to tune everything because I am not that knowledgeable in car audio as I am mechanically inclined more than anything else. It has 4v rca pre-amp outputs. Those will work great. No reason to make it any more complicated than that.

Just use decent rca cables and you'll be good to go.

no, not at 4v.

Plus, to use HU sub controls you'd need to use the rca output.

There's no reason to use high level inputs if you're using a good aftermarket HU.

Hi lev inputs on amps were developed for factory HU integration to avoid the need for Line Output Converters. They are not an SQ advantage.

Ahhhh, interesting. Thank you for that. Seeing as I would be adding a sound processor down the line I don't want someone to tell me that, "You should have done the high level because of blah-blah and could have gotten better quality." Know what I'm sayin'?

They have cars and coffee at "The Diner" in boynton once a month and then they have the "Kilts and Kars" at the tilted kilt every so often. Then there are the ones that are weekly that all the degenerates go to, including me, that are not sanctioned and get broken up every so often. I've slowed down going to the car meets over the years, as they become a little mundane after a while. Also it's a breeding-ground for rambunctious teens to show off and have near-crashes in the parking lot.

Stock HU to DSP. Kind of have to.
