Gunna hookup some subs and and amp in a friends trail blazer but he wants to keep the stock radio.

We got a LLC and ive never used one before. Obviously you run the RCA's from its one end to your Amp but the other end has what appears to be three or four wires, im assuming two of them are for speaker wires and the third might be a ground? Not sure exactly howmany wires there were only looked at it briefly.

My main question is do i splice the wires on the end of the LLC into the factor harness using Butt connectors, or T Taps? And also i need to run a remote turn on, what should i use for this? Can i use the switch (red?) on the factory harness?

I would use T Taps personally.

And for the remote wire, get a test light. Hook it up to the factory harness and keep testing to where you turn the key on the light goes on.

When you turn the key off, the light goes off. Then tap into that one.

Im not an expert by any means, but that is what I would do.

Should have 4 wires and maybe a ground. I would pull the radio and connect you 4 wires 2 pos. 2 neg. to the rear speakers L+R using t-taps or soldering (i like soldering). Then while your back there test for acc. power for your remote turn on. the12volt.com is a good source for wiring information.

you'll use yellow(-) and brown(+), and light blue(-) dark blue(+) those are the rear speaker wire colors and i would use the ignition wire at the column as the remote wire it is a big pink wire, i would also suggest soldering all your connections (i could never stand t-taps)

Tell him to dump the stock radio and go aftermarket...doesn't cost that much and way more with it in both sound and quality. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
