Loudest shallow mount subwoofer you can buy

just some things i want to throw at you. the sundown e8s are not made anymore, so if u want some u will have to find them used and gl with that.

i called a dealer for dd audio and he quoted me $200 for a 10" sub, so just make sure u have the budget to do this.

you have more options if u go with DD audio. here is a link to their mounting depth page. if u have 6" u can fit more than an 8.

Fitting the sub is only one part of the deal, you will need ample space for the sub to work, a better (bigger) box with a smaller sub is better than a bigger sub with a smaller box;) Keep that in mind.

yes but its a truck, and problem with trucks is not enough mounting depth.

for example, i own a truck, and i can only fit a 5" mounting depth sub, but i could build a box of 1.2 cubic foot.

so if he could mount a 6" sub in a 1.2 box, it will be better than my 5" sub in the same box, unless for some reason the 6" mounting depth sub wants a whole 1.2 cubic foot box

Yep, if he went with a couple 1508 in a box that was 3.4 cu.ft. tuned to 40hz with 2-3" ports about 7" long it would get pretty stinking loud. If he wanted to get a little lower he could make the ports 10.5" and be in the 35hz range. And the best thing all this would fit behind the seat and allow it to be pushed pretty much all the way back.

If you mount the sub on the bottom of the box it doesn't matter what the depth is.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif (to a point 8w7...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif)

hehe, thanks everyone - i think the 1508 is the best option, 4 of em.

i need to check for sure what the mounting depth is, maybe he could get a few 10s back thurrrr.

if we can make this work, will be sickkkk

2 1508's are going to rock, 3 would be the max I would put in that size box
