I'm gonna have to agree with audioholic on this one... he just gave his opinion as you all did about the Type-Rs... get off his balls. All he was trying to say was that the driver MIGHT not be his main problem, and that changing something else in his install would be better before switching.

I admit, i never thought it would get the point it's at now, and frankly i find it funny. I really don't know where else to go with it. Every forum that i posted these results on ended in a bloodbath. It's almost similar to the whole eD thing where people were backing eD no matter what, although RE definitely has better quality.

Audioholic, just please PLEASE stop replying to the type-r threads. They work....period. It's been proven time and time again. I don't know what else i NEED to tell you. 2 straight drop-in comparisons with different vehicles, different sub sizes, different intstalls, different power levels. Type-r prevailed in both cases. If having a cheap sub that performs above and beyond what it should, then there's no reason that it shouldn't be a forum boner.

i had one sealed and it sounded grrrreat but i could barely hear the thing... i dont know what the big fuss about the type r is, i guess i got a dud or something, cuz it really didn't impress me...

i should have tried ported, but didn't feel like building a box.. i figured sealed would have atleest a little output but it didn't.. i shouldn't have expected big things sealed...

Yeah...Type R sealed ain't going to get too loud. Minimal excursion. Should be expected.

Ported on the other hand....in a good box, they can wang with the best of them. Since you wanted 3 12's....I will say that the Type R is a good option. I personally preferred the sound of the Type R's to that of the SX.

But, if you don't wanna go that route, more power to ya. I believe someone was selling some 18" Inhuman's, which IIRC was similar to the old RE HC (someone correct me if I'm wrong). That would have great output aswell.
