LOUD, sealed, sq sub

If you want loud and SQ, you're going to need multiple woofers. You'll blow through your $200 very quickly...
If I were in your shoes and wanted something that sounded good, got reasonably loud, and didn't break the bank; I'd do a single TC Sounds 8" woofer in a ported box tuned around 38hz. It'll make your friends think you have a pair of 12's and it will sound surprisingly good and crisp. Should be within your budget too. It seem counter intuitive, but a single TC 8" in your application is perfect.

TC Sounds used to make Eclipse woofers and I've installed a lot of those 8's in people's trucks...not one owner could believe the amount of bass they were getting from a single 8" and how good it sounded.
1. you don't need multiple woofers, that makes no sense

2. if you're looking for sound quality, NEVER tune above 35hz, maybe even 33hz.

3. a single 8" is not going to be loud. no matter what speaker. i've heard a tc epic 8" and sundown 8" and they are about as beastly as it gets for 8s and they weren't even close to enough bass for most

"Enough bass" is subject //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif I know his multiple woofer theory makes no sense due to the fact that 2 8s still has less cone area than a single 12'' sub.

It all depends on how much SQ is SQ to a person lol. I have the 12" Obsidian sitting in my room right now. It's goin in one of my buddys rides that I'm building a box for and installing. I've only ran it free air so far. I'm in the process of building a 2.09cuft @ 31hz (4" aero) for it right now. It is a beautiful built sub. I'd love to invert it.

^ This.

Although, I believe the owner of Sundown was able to squeeze some crazy SPL out of their 8 inch, but generally speaking, they perform more like midbasses than subwoofers. Some people think 30 hz is the low lows though.

Not true lol. There are some people on here that still run stock systems.
Lol, I'm part of that crowd. Not for too much longer though.

I had the choice between my Blazer with a system in progress, or a bone stock Denali, so I took the Denali and sold the Blazer. I kept my HU and will slowly be putting together a system in my Denali.

A single 8" wouldn't be near enough for a LOUD SQ setup like he asked for. A single 8" is like having powerful midbass, it's nice and all, but there's no replacement for displacement. If you want loud, tight bass, you need cone area or power. A single 8" just can't move enough air to get loud and low with SQ.

Naw i havnt gotten that into the hobby yet lol. I read so many good reviews on the JBl im disappointed. I orignially had it at 2cu at like 27Hz and it got MEAN, my kenwoods 2nd channel died out so it could only run 200rms. Bumped that till i got the audiopipe maybe 3 weeks after and the sub didnt get nearly as loud. Made the box recommended size at 35Hz, got a lil louder but nothing impressive. Were acutally now thinking of going sealed to see what it sounds like. I thought for a second that my builder didnt really know his stuff, so i can it by the local shop. Guys there seemed to think he did a **** good job, so im completely lost now. Im brothers sending me a 12in memphis PR, but idk wtf to do still
