2 dual 4ohms or 2 dual 2 ohms?

I am getting an mb quart onyx 1200.1 D amp and thats what it is rated at 1 ohm. Now my question is since i dont want to upgrade my electrical system other than the big3 and MAYBE a battery I was hoping to have a bangin system on a 110 amp alt. Anyways I will be running 480w rms for speakers adding 1000 for 2 4 ohm subs I guarantee I will get a good amount of dimming. So I was thinking buying the 2 ohms and run them at the rated 750w rms at 2 ohms. Total rms being around 1250 which is wayyy more logical than 1500. What do ya guys think?

there was just a thread about the sq differences, if there are any, your ears probably wont be able to tell. also pulling 750 at 2 ohms is a good bit easier on your electrical than 1200 at 1 ohm. i'd just say make sure u have sensitive subs or good enough cone area in order to still get good output. and in the end the box will be a MAJOR factor in your sound.

anyone know if there is also a sq/sp difference between 2 ohms and 4 ohms?
Your question is too generic to give a yes or no answer. Running any specific amplifier at a higher ohm load will reduce the THD. But there is no inherent reason why a lower ohm load on one amp will have higher THD than a higher impedance on another amp. In other words, running amplifier A at 2ohms is not inherently dirtier than running amplifier B at 4ohms. That is a common misconception brought about by misunderstanding the reasoning in the first sentence of my reply.

no its the same amp. and they are type r 10's (2) in a sealed box proabably around 1-1.2 cubes. Should I get the 4 ohm version and wire it to 4 ohms for 475 rms or 2 ohms and wire it to 750 rms. I ask this because i dont think my car's stock electrical system can take the 4 ohms running at 1 ohm for 1000 rms. Dont forget i have about 500 rms running to speakers. BTW the amp is the mb quart onyx 1000.1 d and its not changing so base opinions off of that. thanks again guys

okay perfect so i should get the 4 ohms and wire them to 1 and if I do get some sort of dimming (most likely) i can just turn my gains down? btw guys I am doing the big 3 just dont have the budget for a 200 or so battery
