Losing voltage bad!

I changed amps from the power acoustik 3000db to a Crunch GP3000d Pro. This amp is ****** soooo much juice, that when give it a little over half tilt, it jumps to protect. I have the big 3 ran in 0/1 , deka g34 in the trunk, and also 0/1 ran throughout the car. I just bought a deka g31 to replace the g34 and plan to move it under the hood of my car. Will or can this hold up? Besides doing the ho alt, what could i use for a quick fix because out of town for a carshow this weekend?

i ran mine at 1 ohm wit 2 batts in the back and a kinetik up front wit a stock alt and it still dropped to about 11.9. also check how high ur gain and input is, distortion will put into protect instantly..........

the gain is at half. that and the bass boost. No distortion at all. It pounds hard!

u need to cut the bass boost off.... that IS distortion. thats prolly why its goin into protect with such a high load and low gain.

i used bass boost on my pair of strapped saz1500ds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif and i never had problems or blown subs.

bass boost doesn't kill speakers.. stupidity kills speakers...

1) sundown and a crunch gp are highly different

2) if you set your gains correctly, you may see a difference

3) the more power you try to run, the more power you need to back it up. Yer gonna need an alty and more batteries, and thats all there is to it.

Not to jack this thread, but where is the cheapest place for those Crunch amps?

I was scared to buy them last year, but alot of people have had good luck with them.

I understand that they really do over 3k at 14.5v??? Is that correct?

I can think of alot of possibilities of a 3kw+ amp at 1 ohm.

And I do think that I read on this forum someone ran his daily at 0.5?

One G31 Deka should give you decent power, but I think if you want to get full power out of that amp, you are still going to need a HO alt. Probably at least a 250A alt would be needed to burp full power. To play music, the more battery power the better. Probably two G31s is my guess.
