I'm entering a DB drag event next month and I'm wanting to finish my small setup. I'm not expecting to win, but I do wanna show some people up with only a single 10". I have no clue where to start though, currently my setup is 62.5RMS going to 4 Alpine X 6.5s (Two comps, two mid-bass) with a Rockford 500x Punch. I'm thinking about finishing it off with a single Alpine X 1042 run off a Rockford P850.2 or P650.2 amp. I'm not sure what I will do for a cap yet though. As for the enclosure, I also need a little help with this part. Plans for that are just a basic 1 cu. ft. fiberglassed and molded into my side panels.

I'm just looking to see if anybody else has any better suggestions. The car is a 1995 Acura Integra hatchback with a stock alternator and battery thus far. Thanks!

I think to get loud with a 10 you're gonna need more than 1 cu. ft. and you won't need a cap. Ported enclosures will generally be capable of being louder when done correctly. Look into an SPL type 10 sub if you are planning on trying to get loud and impress some people. Something that will take some power.

I'm looking at an Orion H2 10.4 SPL 10" and that thing says it needs a good 2000 RMS. Arson, is this the sub you were telling me about? If it is, what the hell kind of an amp would one power this thing with?

Also, would it be better to go with the 10.4 or the 10.2 (Guessing the 2 and 4, we're talking ohms). Obviously I'm extremely new at this type of stuff.

atomic ap/spl 10's are mean i can do high 40's in a street box with one 10
What the hell is a streetbox? You mean a box tuned into the low 30's compared to an SPL box tuned alot higher such as into the high 40's?

build a 4th oder bandpass fo it and u might have a chance at mid 130's with 1 ten

To give you an idea, when i had an OLD OLD spl box for my single 10", we dropped it in my buddies '01 monte carlo. Only a 2 dB difference (my truck being the louder one).

My setup DOES a 146-147 sealed on the dash (at 44 hz), thus would transfer over to at least a 140 in a regular trunk car.

You don't need a bandpass to be loud, especially in the street classes.
