Lookng for a fast new car...

id say a ***** am like i plan to get in the next month or so...

can be picked up for 10-15k used and are pretty bad ***, Then take the 3k u dont spend on the car and get a STS kit

450rwhp FTW

I second a used Evo as well, those little cars are very fast in stock trim. I have no idea if they offer one in an auto though. If I had a sports car, it would be a stick but if it was a daily driver, I would prefer it to be an auto. Maybe it's because of my age but I hate driving sticks unless it's my weekend car. I have driven those new GTO's and they are very fast. There like driving an old muscle car (tons of tourque) but they basically come bare bones, nothing fancy in them at all. One of those would most likely be out of your price range anyway.

Just so you know, all the fast track cars will have auto's for reliability. If you want it for road racing (turns and tracks) get a stick. If you just want it for the fun factor, get a stick. If your going to be using the phone, drinking something and trying to eat all at the same time, get an auto.

get a toy, and spend the rest of the money on a daily driver.

just get something lightweight, that doesn't require tons of hp/$$$ to get fast, and then get yourself a solid daily driver that's comfy and quiet.

There's no way to make a car a) fast b) handle well c) quiet all at the same time.

but i guess that depends on your definition of fast.

Back when i was living with my dad, and could afford toys, i got myself an abandoned autox project car for $5k, which was an 87 gti, that was stripped out, had a european 2.9l VR6, big cams, racing intake manifold, quaiffe LSD, chip, underdrive pulleys, coilovers, nice racing wheels, toyo proxies, 5-point harnesses, 14-point cage, corrado dash swap, tons of body work, custom audi silver paint job, 16v final drive, etc. etc. etc. all because the guy got frustrated when he bent a few valves.

Would i want to drive something like that everyday? Hells no. The thing idled like complete A$$, and rode like a **** truck.

But did it run low 13's, spin the tires through 3rd, get 29+mpg, whip around corners like a go-kart? Hell yes.

**** thing even had a sony xplod head unit in it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And i still had the money left over to buy the audi to drive everyday.

Toy+Daily = bliss.

i have been lookin at EVO's alot, but they r kinda high and only manuals but i am goin try to get a manual, but what do yall think of the GTO, kelley blue book on an 04 isnt but like 18,500. also i was wondering about buying a car off ebay, but i am kinda reluctant to, like would i just paypal the guy 18,000 dollars or something? how does it work?

A buddy of mine has a an 05 GTO and it spends more time in the shop than in his driveway. Piece of S*!t!!!Cheap build quality. Buy a GTI or Jetta w/the VR6 and add a few mods. They are quick out of the box, handle well and are built to last. I have had my VR6 GTI for 4 years and love it. It is my fun car and I picked it up used(1 year old) for under 14,000 with low mileage and a warranty.
