Looking to Upgrade My Deck. Need Suggestions

eh ?

Subwoofer Output: In addition to front and rear preamp outputs, the receiver has a non-fading, two-channel subwoofer output on an 8" pigtail. You can adjust the volume of the subwoofer output from -6dB to +6dB in 2dB increments. The subwoofer output's low pass filter can be set to 80Hz, 120Hz or 160Hz. In addition, you can set the high pass filter for the other speakers at 90Hz, 135Hz, 180Hz, 225Hz, or Off.

You can also turn off the internal amp, a feature only found in higher end units

If that is indeed the case, what about this unit makes it better than the others we discussed tonight? And is it true that alot of higher end products are made by the same companies as Panasonic? I guess I'm just trying to grasp the fact that Panasonic isn't like Sony you know what I mean?

I'm probably going to have to do some reading on Panasonic units to see what's up. Like I said, I just don't want to get the unit and find out that it's another Sony deck. Are Panasonic unit's either better than they once were or just good all around decks?
