As previously mentioned the DIYMA is a great sounding driver. If you have at/under 500 watts and mounting depth isn't an issue (probably isn't seeing as how you're running DD's) the DIYMA is a very solid option. And as bass lover1 mentioned, the Mag v4 is a bit more durable and can handle up to 1000 watts. You can port the DIYMA where you can't port the Mag, but both drivers have their areas/situations where they are better suited. You're going from two DD 12's (ported I assume) to one small box 12".

2 12" Image Dynamics IDQ's should satisfy your taste for SQ and be plenty loud enough. I was shocked about how loud they do get, but sound oh soooo good.

IDQ's sound good i wana keep my current amp so maybe im looking for something jus more sq than what i currently have bcuz i still want output i jus want the sub to sound better doing it on all ranges of bass... I was thinking about and RD alpha w/ the sq option i forget what its called but how do u think it will compare with the idq

im surprised no ones mentioned the icon or the Q, as far as front stage, it all depends on HOW in depth you wanna go, but a 2 way active front stage is hands down going to sound better than 80% of passive component sets. no offense to the guys here but check out http://www.diymobileaudio.com those guys are the SQ nuts

YEA NEXT TIME AROUND IMA GIVE active a try i jus wish there was a nice tv Head unit with lots of eq features most of good SQ decks r ugly IMO and im kinda into looks as much as im into sound unfortunately...

Instead of putting your money into an IDMAX, going with a cheaper/smaller sub and going active is the better option.

Really, as mentioned before, the sub is the least of your concerns.
