just read as much as you can.

this site caraudiohelp.com helped me out ALOT. Its not filled with all that jargon that you usually find. When you get more experienced, the jargon will start making sense.

I went from having friends install my past system to doing ALL the work myself. Even went as far as to build my own box.

welcome, ya definately check out some of the threads on here w/ basic knowledge of important aspects of the car audio build. ALso, if you want some help tell us some things like budget, vehicle, music choices, what you want out of it etc... this will help us argue back and forth about which is better for you!
