Looking to get a ported box built for my 2005 RE XXX, shipping it is ok

2.5 cubes of air space for the subtuned to 32 hz. Has a 3" port with 36 sq. inches of port area.

External dimensions are: 30 wide x 13.5 tall x 18.75 deep.

That is what one builder planned for the box. Does that sound alright?

Assuming the port lenght is around ~32" to get 32Hz

I get 2.5cu/ft @ ~32Hz

with a .08 cu/ft driver displacment.

There is nothing wrong with the spec the guy gave you for the design, like I said I had alot of assumptions... did he give you port lenght?

nah, just said 3 inch port, but im not really sure what that means. Would I be better off using Moe Lester's box plan for a 2.5 @ 32hz? I showed this guy moe's plan, and he said it would be about 2.9 cu ft gross or so.

yea 12 inch. I want it to hit really hard, but still retain sound quality. I was in my buddies car last night with a JL Audio W7 in a ported box, and it hit really hard and deep, but the sound quality was kind of bad, didn't really sound balanced or anything, just random pounding to music. He had it in a 1.5 cube pre-fab box though. So sound quality still is important to me, but i don't want to lose SPL just to get competition sound quality, i just need it to sound good, and hit hard doing it.
