I have been trying to tune my system lately, for a "smoother" response. The latest addition has been an AudioControl Epicenter, and has shown me the obvious problems with my current box. The box itself is a really nice Pre-Fab 2.5 cu.ft. slot ported box. Thats as much as I know about it, no port length, no port tuning, nothing. Just the hearsay from the salesman. Now that I see the problems with it I am going to build my own, so I know everything about it.

- I have 2 kicker Comp VR's and would like some recomendations for a good ported box for them. This box has to fit in the trunk of a 1988 Crown Victoria, so space is not limited. I would like a ported box, for the output, but I have not ruled out a sealed.

the trunk space is actually like up to 42in x 24in max. Its a big trunk if you've ever seen one. Tuning Freq. would be something like 33 - 30. Something low. Looking for smooth bass, not SPL or competition level.

You seem halfway smart... so why not just get a copy of winISD for yourself and play around with it till you get something you like? No offense, but why have it handed to when you can learn how to do it yourself?

I have both copys of it. The alpha and the betta pro version. To be honest I have no idea wtf half of it is, and I must have played w/ it for about 2 hours. First off it doesn't have the woofers I use in the database, thats the first problem. Anyways, I was searching the net last night and found a website. Tell me what you think about this box.

Sorry its so long, but I didn't know how to use this as well.

As for the mechanical part of it (ex. actually cutting and assembling the thing) I am very skilled. No problem there. I guess if I had a tutorial for the program I might learn.

i have a kicker cvr 12 also. i put mine in a 2 cube box @ 36hz and it sounds great. i would recommend 4-4.5 cf @ 30-36hz for two of them. that should sound **** good. pre-fabs are usually tuned high. in the 40's and up from what i have noticed. tuning lower will keep the high end decent, but will allow for nice lows.

how does your one 12 sound. I was throwing the idea around that if I build a box great for one that would be enough. since I have dual 4 ohm subs I could wire it for a 2 ohm load drawing more power out of my amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . do you have any plans for the one you have, at least outside dimensions.

saw the videos from another post, looks great man, how loud is it, and more importantly, how does it sound. looks kinda like what im going for. just think I'm going to have trouble fitting a 5 cube box in my trunk for the 2 12's.
