Looking for two decently priced radar dectors

I dont know if it matters, but my dad has a 2006 SR5 Toyota 4Runner, and we are gonna drive to vegas, and we want a Radar Dector. So what are some good brands and such?

And it needs to be able to decect it a few miles in advance if possible. (What are the range on them anyways)

Next my 1992 Benz, 190E, just looking for something simple, to detect radar so no speeding tickets. Can radar dectors detect around corners? Because that would be a plus.

get the valentine 1. goes for cheap on ebay. i have 1 in my 4runner and the arrows help soooo much. and it picks things up from very far away. definitly not miles though. think of it like this. if you can see the source of the radar, the detector can detect it. not over hills, around corners, or stuff like that.

i have a escort passport 8500 i think it is... and it kicks A55.. it is compared to the valentine 1 but cheaper... have yet to get a ticket in my mustang

If you are looking for something kind of "trick' for the Benz, check out the Fuzion by whistler. it is made to sit in a gauge pod....it also has a voltage gauge so no need to add one of those to the pillar.

For a really great performer look into the Bel Pro RX65. It is the same thing as the Escort Passport 8500 (both built by the same company since Cincinnatti Microwave acquired Beltronics) and can be had cheaper than the Escort if you have an old crappy (working or not doesn't matter) detector to trade in.

If you buy a Bel Pro RX65 factory-direct here and add the warranty coverage that makes the overall warranty 3 years here and then participate in their trade-in program here you can have one factory-direct with an valid 3yr extended warranty for just a bit shy of $300 brand new and that is including the $8 or $9 it will cost you to ship them your trade-in.

I have one on my dash and it hasn't failed me yet (and I've had it since they first were released)

Look here, excelerater....big, bold letters claiming that the Bel Pro RX65 is the best detector Radar Roy has ever tested under the picture of that particular detector. Imagine that!
