What is the mounting depth for the front speakers in an 01' Chevy Tahoe?

I've seen 6 1/2's get put in the doors with a depth of about 2.5". Would 2.75" of depth still fit? I don't want the window to hit it when it rolls down, and I don't want to purchase the comps and have them not fit. (I'm not one for heavily modding my door panels).

I'm looking at the CDT Audio HD-62's and their CL-61A's. The HD's have a mounting depth of 2.75" and the CL's have a depth of 2.5".

I'd like to get the HD's but i'm having my doubts as to if they'll fit or not.

I just put Polk Audio Dxi650's in the front and rear doors of my Silverado 2500 Crew Cab... If that helps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

BTW Crutchfield says that "Focal Access 165CA1 SG" with a mounting depth of 2 9/16th top mount, fits. YMMV but Crutchfield is pretty conservative for fit, IMO.

I would be shocked if an SUV had only 2.5" of mounting depth. Metra Online says 3.5". HD-62 will fit very easily in those doors, depth-wise. You will possibly need an adapter plate to attach them since they use 6.7" mids. This is very common for aftermarket oversized speakers. You might get away with drilling new holes. The HD-62s are a lot better than CL-61A, anyway, so you want those. I can get you any of the CDT speakers.

I have a set of diamond audio hex 6.5's that are very shallow and will sound better then the CDTs I'd bet
