Looking for some decent coaxials...

I've pretty much narrowed it down to these five speakers. I'm basically looking for something that is reasonably priced, will drop right into the stock door locations and run well off the amp I have (70x2@4ohms).

Ive heard the Focals a few times, and dam, they sound good!!!!!!!!!

I was really surprised how well they sounded for a coaxial!!

I would go with the CDT's, Focals, or the ID's. The JL's aren't that good, and the Bostons are not that efficient. The Bostons do sound good, but your 70x2 would not give them what they need for good output.

The problem with most coaxes is poor crossovers. The hot thing to do, is to go with a convertible component set, where the tweeter mounts like a coax but you get the crossover and benefits of a component set.

Check out PPI 356cs and Cerwin Vega V-Max 65

Onlinecarstereo has the Cerwins, but they are not listed under components, you have to search for them.

Those are all good choices. You wouldn't be going wrong going with any of them. All are solid speakers.

I'd only replace the JL XR's with the new C5's replacing the XR line. The motors and woofers have been modeled and designed like the ZR's, which have been modeled and designed like the W7/W6 drivers. (DMA optimized, elevated frame cooling, etc)

Very linear, smooth transients, good power handling (75w RMS, 25-150 Watt recommended power ranged)
