Looking for opinions on RX8

Do not get her a nice car. That's the problem with parents these days. They want to give their kids these nice cars for their first car. Ummmm no I don't think so. Get her a reliable first car that will last her for a while to see how she takes care of it. Then if she wants a nicer car make her buy her own. IMO I would never buy my kid a car. Make them get a job and buy it themselves. They will appreciate it a lot more and value it more. Plus she'll probably get into an accident anyways. From my experience most young girls can not drive. Please don't get her an SUV btw. The last thing people need is a girl trying to squeeze into a parking spot with a car that's too big for her and scratching their car. Get her a late 90's camry or something.

Agreed. I got a '92 Honda accord with 151k miles for my first car (July '08). Paid it off by January, got it painted, and everything, had it all paid off. Sold it and got what I really wanted, a Mustang. I did have a job before I got my first car, so I guess I knew I should get a cheap car to begin with, and get a nicer one later.

Get a civic or an accord, they are great cars, and get good gas mileage.

I'd actually prefer the 3rd gen. I test drove one and loved it. Didnt get to floor it to see what it was made of due to traffic though. Loved the growl of that v8 too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If I could drive stick Id take a 2nd gen.

However, I dooooo have 13 grand in my bank account. But I have all that in CD's. Not touching that at all.

I only haz 200 bucks to my name. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

My friend has 6 sho's and 3 more motors in the garage including a supercharged one and a turbo'd one. Quick cars, sleepers for sure. I almost bought a 3rd gen.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yea, the one I test drove was nice too, only a mile from my house. Only had about 60,000 miles on it.

He wanted 8 grand though. No way in hell I'd pay that.

Its gone though, I bet an old lady or some stupid kid bought it and will have no appreciation for it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Get her something nice and fun but SAFE. She is your little girl after all.

What you get of course depends on your budget.

I am of course biased because i love my new(ish) car so much.

Saab 93 linear turbo. Mine is a 2005 and i picked ip up for around 14k in mint condition with 50k on the odometer.

It is fun and sporty. With the 5 speed I can do a NICE 0-60 (about 6 seconds) But if i take it easy and am not heavy on the foot can get about 37mpg on the highway. That is what is so sexy about the 2.0 Turbo. Best of all it is safe as shit!!! 10 airbags and a fantastic safety rating. I actually bought the car because i thought it was sexy and knowing my wife had less driving experience than me,, wanted to know if she dumped it she would have a good chance of staying with me.

My wife and I are talking about having children soon and once they begin to drive, I will sure as hell take the Scandinavian approach to motor vehicle safety when that time comes.
