Looking for new subs

Alright heres the deal i had two AA Havocs but they arent cutting it i think they may just be to big for my box or something. I have a 2004 dodge ram quad cab with a bassforms fiberglass box.

the link is here http://www.bassforms.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BF212RAM

Before i had 2 kicker cvr and they were loud but i want to upgrade, im running a sundown saz-2500 amp. so can yall recommend me two 12 inch subs for this box that will be loud im more worried about spl. After i find 2 i like, im gonna be building a console box and running 2 more of the same sub, so one day ill be running 4 12 inch subs. So please let me know, ive been looking at the cvx or maybe l7's or something so any suggestions please.

would the sa-12 be reliable and loud also, what i found with the AA is one was busted when it arrived now i cant get them to reply or answer or anything so its frustrating. With my 300 dollar setup i was running way louder then i am now with a 2000 dollar setup.

The guy at the shop i took it too said maybe with displacement and everything the AA havocs just may be to big for my box. any suggestions?

i think its total, the box doesnt have seperate chambers the middle piece is all open, i added quiet a bit of polyfill already and that didnt help. My budget im not really sure i just want to make sure im louder then i was with my two cvr's so i dont feel like i made a mistake in selling them.

will it be a problem since they are only dual 2 ohm since i dont wanna wire down to .5 ohm would i only be using half the avaliable power by running both subs to a 2ohm load?

well with 1.79 total, ur gonna have to find subs that want that space. sundown sa 12s want 1 cubic foot sealed per sub, so if u put 2 of them in there, ur in same situation, too small of a box.

for example, polk audio MM1240 12" subs want .88 cubic foot per sub, so two of them want 1.76, which would be good for ur box, especially with polyfill. i cant guarantee they will be louder tho as i have not heard kicker subs.

personally if u wanted spl, i would try rockford p3 12s as they want .75 sealed each, so ur box is perfect. i had two p2 12s sealed and they got loud for sealed and low wattage

or FI SSD would be a great option, they want .7-1.2 cubic foot per sub, so should be fine with 2 of them, and u can send anywhere from 1600-2000 watts to them

The thing im confused about is the AA say they reuqire 0.6-1.2 cf of airspace a piece. The kickers i had say at a minimum they need 1.8 cu ft of airspace a piece. Which i was running two of the kickers which would be 3.6 cu ft of airspace correct? Well the kickers blew away the AA which doesnt make sense to me since they need so much more space.

im nervous on buying again casue i spent alot on the havocs and im not impressed at all so i wanna get something i know will be loud.

i feel like its lacking all around, with the kicker and ssl before with the gain about 3/4 i had the h/u subwoofer level at about 5 of 15 and the bass knob about a quarter turned up and it would shake all my windows but still sounding good. With what i have now i had to turn the gain about 3/4 on the amp the h/u had to be about 13 or 14 out of 15 and the bass knob has to be almost all the way up to even get close to touching the level i was hitting before.

Interesting. You should do what I did and just ditch the back seat of your Ram and building something big. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

or build a ported box for ur havocs and put it in ur back seat. shouldnt take up whole seat so u can still have people sit back there and if u need u can remove them if u have to fit more. thats what i do lol. tho no one rides with me except up front

supposedly havocs are good subs so i doubt u be disappointed with them ported
