Looking for new subs. new help choosing

Alright, I havent been on here mad long, but i finally need the help of some people. Currently I have 2 12 jl w3v3s. I am ready to get rid of em and move on.

So the question is, WHAT DO I BUY? I want them to be the same clarity as jl, but blow the w7 out of the water. Im looking at re audio, but dont know which to get. Im leaning towards the new ***'s or the mx series. looking for 2 12s or 2 15s.

I have a fosgate p1000.1 amp btw. so come on ladies ad gents, help me get a new bass face

EDIT: Maybe the SX18D2. That would be nice... Oh, and the MX is a SPL sub. If you want SQ, it's out the door...

then what would be needed, cuz the specs on re for the mx are 1500 rms, and i have an actual 1000 watt amp, so i kinda actually considered gettin rid of my rf but i dont want a pos amp either u know. my systems been right for the past year, now i just wanna start over

That amps fine for 2 SE's

Id go for 2 SE's there rated at 6 and can handle more but there still fine with your amp

Well, it's all really about your personal preference. Judging by what you said, you highly value the JL Audio W7. I personally feel that the RE SX is a superior woofer at a portion of the price, but that's MY preference and means little or nothing to you.

Personally, I'd keep the Punch 1,000 for the time being and pick up the RE SX15D2. But if you want to buy a new amp, AND TWO SUBS are absolutely necessary, look into 2x SE12D4's and a Sundown SAZ-1500D. The SE's are only rated at 600 watts rms, but that's bs. I would know, I had 8 of them at one time. 1,500 watts continuous will make them sing...

Yeah, the amp will do okay with 2 SE's, but 1,500 watts would be better. I had 8 of the SE's, man. Tested two in a friend's ride on a US Amps MD-2D, and they were fantastic. Same subs on a MD-1D were far less impressive...

ya i actually am in love with jl. and thats the problem. i havent experience any others. one my friends had a 15 xxx and it fin rocked me. thats y i wanna go with re. and i trust ur judgment on it bein better than the w7. i know there are subs out there at a fraction of the cost, and thats exactly what im looking for. but at the same, i want the clarity jls have, so i guess a sql is what im goin for

Brand loyalty is the order of the day. I'm not one of the guys who'll argue with you because you like JL Audio, but I will say that their prices are absolutely ridiculous for what you're actually getting.

Personally, I'd take the RE's, but that's just my personal opinion, and price has a lot to do with my opinion.

ya i totally agree about the prices. i mean the subs are nice and all, but from what ive heard and been seeing, jl is not what they used to be mainly because of their prices. and alot of people know theres better. imm for sure gonna go with re i just wanna make sure they will blow a w7 away. im thinkin im goin with the se's.

Still tho, i would love to get more ideas of whats out there. ive been in the car audio scene only a few years, and no my ish, but like i said, ive been sheltered to jl and its time to move on

how would a hifonics bx 1201 d or a hifonics 1601 work with those se's?

I had a hifonics brutus 1206 and loved it, so im thinking maybe another hifonics?

I don't like Hifonics. Again, personal opinion. I know people who use them, and I'm currently trying to sell one for a friend, but I don't like their products.

This amp comes up for sale in the classifieds pretty frequently on this forum, so keep your eyes open. There are probably several of them for sale right now.
