Looking for new speakers

I currently am running Infinity 680.7CS 5x7 components and 6822CF 6x8 coaxials off a US AMPS XT800.4 amp. Im looking to upgrade to new 6.5 Components and dont really get the point of coaxials. I dont mind if i have to get a new amp but if i dont thats just more money to spend on the new speakers. The main issue i have with the speakers i have now is the midbass sucks. I have to turn the bass all the way down or else the sound gets distorted if i play it too loud. I dont know if this matters but ill be getting 2 15's also. Looking to spend around 400ish. THANKS!

Treo TSX comps. They'll take a clean 2x200-220w rms.

Have you deadened and sealed your doors? ...not that it'll help out midbass from Infinity a ton, but it would be a great place to start.

Midbass = ?? the bass in your speakers?.

I just got new components they sound really really really clear and get very loud while maintaining there clearness, but I wish they had more of a solid sound to them.

I have not deadened my doors and how do you "seal" your doors? I plan on doing both within the next two weeks.

why don't you just toss in a 2 way active crossover before your amps?

soooo get the xxx but get different crossovers? and then get a new amp?

Deaden your doors. RAAMmat: $135 shipped

Take out the Infinity fronts and put in the TS-D720C: $130 shipped

Get the 880PRS so you have full active control from the HU: $325 shipped

(or find one used)

Sell your current goodies (probably get around $100+ for the HU and $65+ for the speakers)

Total investment: $425ish

Or keep your Alpine HU and go with a Memphis 16-XO3 instead of the 880PRS for about $100 in order to go active.

Im looking for a double din because i have the space. Any opinions instead of that 880PRS?
