Looking for new, cheap deck

I am only starting my junior year in high school and need a decent deck to use till i graduate, after which off to the army i go. I need a cheap head unit (like no more than 200$) some the biggest features i am looking for is ipod capable and an easy screen to read. also, i will be running my speakers off the head unit (not dropping money on an amp till i get my new car when i am older) i was looking at the Pioneer 5800, but is it easier to read the screen than the 3800 or 4800 in the direct sunlight? What about the alpine units. is the 9856 worth the full 200, even then i have to buy the ipod link and drop money for a remote....

I might be selling my alpine cda 7894 great lil unit jus nto sure on the ipod, i dispise them, but there allways a way to make it work tho. If intereested PM me and we cna tlak bout price

That pioneer model is very weak as far as ipod support, the current model alpines with full speed Ipod capability are far superior.

willing to go used? If so, with a little patience....you could find a pretty nice deck.

What about a 9852 in comparison to the 9856. besides the extra 2 watts RMS and 2 more pre-outs, why would the 9856 be a better choice?

I just found a 9852 for 125.99 because it doesn't have any wiring harness, which i would have to buy any way to fit my nissan. Is this a good deal, to save 75 bux and get the 9852 instead of the 9856?? the faceplate is otherwise in perfect condition and the instruccion manual, etc. is included. the only thing missing is the wire harness.

Please respond before someone buys it. Best Buy is only gonna hold it till 5 my time!

well no wiring harness probably means the plug to go into the unit is gone period, meaning you either have to hardwire it or buy another plug from alpine, so i would pass on it.

you still need the harness on the back of the deck to wire into that one

****, if they won't hook me up with one, i think i am gonna just get a new one. what is sooo special about the 9856 that makes it 20 bucks more? anything worthwhile since i won't be amping any speakers for the next year or using subs...period?

get the cheaper unit, i just wouldnt waste the headache of getting somethign i have to hunt down the oem wiring harness for if i was buying somehting new

Thanks for the help. Ended up getting the 9852 and it's great. next step is a set of Memphis COAX's that a local guy is selling for 120 (i heard them and they sound good). I fenagled 260 dollars worth of crap to 210, so i am happy (harnes, install kit, ipod cable, and some misc computer stuff.) thanks for your help ya'll.. next time i am talking to ya'll is about coax's....
