Looking for help on a system build!

Im looking to get a pretty good system going in my car. its a 1990 miata so theres not a whole lot to do with it.

so far ive got a kenwood excelon headunit. and now im looking for a nice set of 3-way speakers (6.5s), an 8" sub (preferably a shallow mount because its going in the passanger footwell) and finally an amp to power the two door speakers and the sub)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thank you!

for a shallow 8 I would go with a cadence cvl8.... if you can find one.

The CDT Audio CL-61CV speakers would be excellent for you. These are convertible, meaning you can use them as a regular 2-way speaker or you can mount the tweeter separately. The ideas I've checked out for a shallow 8" sub have fallen through but I can do some more looking.

no the 2 way or comps will always sound better ,especially in the mid bass areas

3-way speaker sets come with a much, much higher level of install and tuning ability to get it sounding as good as a competent 2-way set. Trust me, you really are not ready for 3-way.
