im gunna be puttin speakers in my girl's 02 cavalier. 4x6s fit in the front door and 6x9s fit in the rear deck. 6x9s wont be hard to find but good 4x6's will. best power wise ive seen is the rockford powers at 40watts rms each. does anybody have any other ideas on something that will compare to most 6.5s. what was GM thinking?

What is your budget? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

infinity has pretty good ones.
get the plate 4x6's the round cone will distort less than the oblongish one.

What if he wants some serious bass out of them?!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

.. more cone area...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif indeed -- Better idea: chop + chop = room for a 6"-7" speaker YAY...

as for the rear... Mount some subs IB? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you can't cut there and don't want the painfull IB install process (it sucks -- takes a whole weekend away...)

those don't look *too* shabby... between 100-200 watts of power -- actively bandpassed between say 40 and .... well wherever you feel like it and you would get some reasonable low distortion bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Again all depends on your budget and how far you are willing to go to give your special lady some good sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you're looking for some quality 4x6's, get a pair of Boston Acoustics 746. They are 4x6 plate speakers, and probably the best sounding 4x6 drop-in replacements I've heard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif (still crying inside about forgetting them in a vehicle when I traded it in).

if you can buy them right the memphis pr series and mc series are awesome buys just a notch under the ba but less expensive

x2, except i'd easily put the msynq 4x6's up there with the ba's. the pr's are a great budget buy, way better then any infinity pos (imo) and the msynqs are just awesome for a 4x6...i have the msynq 4x6's in my silverado...

and yeah, i'm a memphis wh0re..lol....but it's awesome, quality stuff, that's hard to beat. especially the pr stuff when ur on a budget...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif
