Hello, I need some advise.

It’s been at least 10 years since I have played around with a system.

I bought a bunch of stuff need one more amp looking for suggestions,

Witch amp to get, what speakers to hook them to, in what box.

And how to wire them….sorry never played with DVC speakers before.

Here is what I have so far

One sealed dual 10” box

One ported dual 10” box

One pair of Alpine SWR-1022D DVC

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SWR1022/Alpine-SWR-1022D.html?tp=111

One pair of Alpine SWE-1043 SVC

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SWE1043/Alpine-SWE-1043.html?tp=111

One Kenwood KAC-9104D amp

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KAC9104/Kenwood-KAC-9104D.html?tp=115&tab=features_and_specs

I am putting one amp and box in each car.

I don’t know what speaker should go in what box and with what amp at what ohm

Thank you in advance for any suggestions

R ported, E sealed. hands down, look no more on that one

Prefab boxes are usually junk though.

Type E is a SVC, so wiring should be straight forward

You want the Type R wired in series (for a 4ohm load) or parallel (for a 1ohm load). Those are your options, rockfordfosgate.com has a good wiring wizard on their website where you can see how to physically wire in parallel and series.

I'd say the SWE is a better match for the kenwood amp, the amp should put out plenty of power for the SWE, but not enough for the R.

For the R you need to decide whether you want 1ohm or 4ohm load and probably look something to give you 600-700 at that impedance. a PDX 600.1 wouldnt be bad (it would put out the same power regardless of how you wired the sub), it should give plenty of power, I'm sure you could find one of those for around $200, or a JL 500/1 would work nice as well

Type E's sealed with the kenwood amp.

Type-R's ported with a much larger amp. The R's will want at least 500RMS a piece. I would give them around 700RMS a piece.

prefab boxes ****.
x2!!!

maybe I'm reading this wrong but the JL 500/1 would supply 250 watts to each speaker.

which would be the min speaker RMS would I want something bigger or no?

Actually since they're dual 2, he could wire 2 subs to .5, 2, or 8 ohms. So you want an amp that can do at least 1000w rms at .5 or 2 ohms.

I have nightmares about prefabs..

*rolling around muttering in bed, asleep*..."airspace, god no so small, tuning so high...no no!"

zomg!! missed the "Pair" word in there, also dont know why I thought the R's were dual 4ohm.

So I'm assuming you want 2ohm for the pair of R's. JL 1000/1, PDX 1000.1, I have an ed nine.1 that would probably work pretty nicely with a pair of R's. It's rated at 900x1 @2ohms, but the ed's are rated at 12.5 volts, you'd be getting 14+ so youd be looking at 1000+.

Kicker amps are worth looking into too, ZX1000.1 or something like that
