Welp. I've just purchased the Alpine 9833 head unit from crutchfield for $299 - $20 (PA166 coupon code). I'm taking out my CVA-1003 and panasonic DVD Player. I have a WRX with a nice 2 Din spot and had both units in.

With an open DIN spot, I am looking for a DIN sized EQ. I looked around at the Pioneer 7600/9200 but don't seem to like the input setting on them (.5 volts). Did some searching on eBay and have seen the Alpine ERA-G320 as an option.

Does anyone have any input on possible options? The g320 is a few years old, is it a better option than anything else out there? Would mounting 2 x 1/2 DIN eqs be a decent option? One for sub and one for front stage?

Any information would be a appreciated.

Thanks.

Dual Zapco 30's would be awesome: http://www.zapco.com/prod/signal_procs/eq30slFrame.htm
Would also be expensive though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you really wanted to add an EQ, it wouldn't have to be a full Din. Just find a half-Din and build a nice trim panel for it.

That Zapco does kick ass, as I've heard most Zapco products do. What does it pull out, and then you can tweak the knobs? $499 is way more than I wanted to spend. I'm probably in the $150-250 range. I am currently using a AudioSource EQX, but hate the fact that it is mounted in my trunk. And after time, those **** knobs bounce all around.

I'm going to do some more searching eBay and see what else I can dig up for possibilities. I just wish someone made an affordable DIN sized EQ that could do 30 freq. ranges! I'd love a eq with knobs and not digital...

Not too sure what your budget is but I picked up an Alpine PXA H700 for $500 last year for my 9833. It's pretty much the last thing you'll buy for processing.

The Zapco's are awesome, but they are very expensive. I don't know too many din sized 30 band eq's with knobs. You could look into a 5 band or something. Maybe an AudioControl FOUR.1 or a PPI PAR-245.

AudioSource is an actual brand? I thought maybe he just made a mistake. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

$500 is well over my budget. I did see this auction on eBay, Arc Audio PEQ-7, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=79841&item=5750955853&rd=1
Might be an option. I have seen some of the old school alpine 1/2 DIN eqs also, 3331...

The AudioControl stuff is great, but would like a little more tweaking than 4 bands.
The Arc PEQ 7 is a nice unit as well. I used to use it for my front stage only.

If you're looking for something with a little more than that, I suggest getting Kenwoods in dash EQ's:

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/product_type.jsp?productTypeId=28

Specifically the 6042

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/product.jsp?productTypeId=28&sortBy=price&productId=91

It has xover and sub control which the PEQ 7 doesn't have.

Meant to say AudioControl. Its the real deal, straight from the north west rainforest.

Being my impulsive self, I made a purchase this afternoon. I took a look at several of the options, and looked into the Alpine PXA H700. Wish I could have that but it is well out of my price range. I did find this auction for the 510,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5751394895&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

It has 11 bands of EQ and for the price it seemed like a good deal. Not a fan of it being a display model and am keeping my fingers crossed that all the buttons work. I'll never use the DTS or Dolby on it but will match well with my CDA-9833. If anyone needs to yell at me for this purchase go right ahead. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If it stinks, I think I can re-sell it for close to what I paid.

It's a Volvo factory amp, so there's a custom wire harness between the head and amp.
