Will a 7 band equalizer give you that much more contol over the bass than a 3 band?

Whether you have a 7 or 3 band adjustment, they'll probably only have 1 band to adjust below 80hz. What are you trying to achieve... because installs have more precedence over processing in any set up, unless you're worried about time alignment.

thanks man... that was over 3 years ago tho.... the newer mics are a little more stiffer, which probably suggested that the old mics were inaccurate. It was nice to hit that number at the time, especially for a sealed box and a legal reading at the dash. dingaling on the other forums hit 147 db with a similar set up using an Arc 2500cxl. Arc makes some pretty solid amps.hey vestax i just checked out your page, 140 w/ 1 idmax sealed is pretty D@MN impressive
