Sony DSC-S40 Cybershot
That's what I've been using. Essentially it's the ex's camera and we're breaking up. I'm moving cross country back to Arizona and want to document the trip. For the most part this Sony has been rather easy to use. One thing I hate and want to avoid in the future is the light settings it has. I mean great it's nice to adjust the light sensitivity, but sometimes the rest of the settings piss me off.
Soemtimes you just cannot use a flash. If I disable the flash it automatically thinks I'm in a super bright area and reduces the light sensitivity. Then there are the various other light settings that augment the colors. If I wanted to do that I'd do it in Photoshop.
I'm just looking for a simple camera but I don't want junk. Most of the pictures will be saved on my computer's hard drive, although sometimes I will print them. This camera having a 4MP maximum is so far perfect for my needs. It also has 3x zoom which works in most settings. The Sony can store about a 90 second movie file. I'll definitely be wanting the ability to record movies.
I think we paid about $170 a year ago for this camera. We then also got extra memory... about 120MB. So my absolute maximum for camera and extra memory is about $200. Any suggestions/input would be greatly appreciated!
