All I need to run active is a active capable head unit right? Pioneer 80prs a good budget option?

What amp do you have? You might be able to use the crossovers on the amp to go active.

I think you must need to have a look at the 6.5" car speakers then go for next opinion. Get some clear ideas then move on to your next step
