Looking for budget 5 channel amp suggestions.

Hello everyone,

I stumbled across this website about a week ago because I'm looking for a decent 5 channel amp under $200. I currently have a Rockford Fosgate 5 channel amp pushing 50w to my door speakers and 300w @ 2 ohms to my American bass XD8 8 inch sub in a ported box. The xd8 is rated at 300 watt RMS but I feel like it could take some more than what the Rockford Fosgate is putting out. I'm looking for a 5 channel amp that has an RMS output of 400 to 500 watts at 2 ohms to leave myself some extra power for when I want to upgrade my subwoofer later on down the road. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also any feedback on the quality and actual output of the Soundstream Rubicon or Tarantula amps vs PPI?

Considering the following amps:

PPI that I have puts out the power I was expecting. I haven't clamped it or anything, but compared to the Kenwood X700-5, it has more output. I get a bad alternator whine from the PPI, but I think that's more so due to something electrical in my ride. Long story short, I bought the Kenwood expecting for the whine to go away and it was only lessened so I wouldn't worry about the whine that I have. I like the PPI amp but have never used the other two you would like to compare it to.

Massive Audio NX3

It's the same exact 3 ch amp I got....you can split up the speaker wires on ch 1 and 2...which is what I plan on doing. The sub ch has about 400 rms 2 ohms and 1 ohm it will do 800 rms. Got it new for 150 bucks.

You must check this out:

https://smile.amazon.com/Zapco-ST-5X-II-5-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B01LY1EQ24/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1481333067&sr=8-7&keywords=zapco+amplifier

If I am not mistaken, CarToys is an authorized online Zapco dealer, also.

The specs are written kind of confusing so anyone know if that zapco is 350 Watts at 2 Ohms on the sub Channel? My current Rockford amp is rated at 300 watts at 2 ohm for the sub channel so if it's only 350 I'd only be getting 50 more watts to my sub so I don't think it's really worth it for me to upgrade to the zapco.

The best solution is not to do a 5 channel. Get yourself a monoblock instead

yeah the ppi is nice but if u wanta have extra power for different sub or 2 subs later u should get 4 channel or 2 channel for mids/highs and mono or 2 channels for sub.. obviously u cant get 2 high quality amps for $200
