Looking for an old Hott Set-up (Orion) Manual

This is gonna show my age but here goes. I have an old Hott Set-up HS 2.125 amp that I picked up at Bestbuy in the early 90's. I think it was about $400.00 at the time and well known as a pretty solid, Orion built, amp. Used it for about 2 years and it's been sitting in the original box since then. Any chance someone here has a manual or a copy of it? I need to identify the wires on this old thing.

lol, what are the odds? Feeling nostalgic and searched for my favorite amps rep to see if it deserved a place in my new 67 Camaro (which is just barely older than me) and found this. No manual, but wires are simple enough.

blue=trigger

green (+) and black w/green stripe (-) = one channel (left or right, dunno)

white (+) and black w/white stripe (-) = other channel

or for bridged operation, solid green is your + and black w/white stripe is -

I grabbed mine at a going out of business sale at some chain back in the 90s for $200 (mispriced and open box) and it's always been great in one roll or another //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Cheers fellow old timer, Never too old to rock!

Yup, that's the one!!!! Mine still looks new. I used it back in the day to power a Kicker SS12 box in the back of my 88 GT Mustang. A few years after I purchased mine they changed the cases to black. This amp has some awesome specs and runs cool and clean. Now that I've reached my mid 40's, I don't think I'll ever thump that loud again so I got her for sale on a few of the auto sites I belong to. I still run an old 3542 Alpine and MSE88tn Hafler in my current system. Not sure if they still build them like they used to but all these amps are 20 years old and still look and function like they did when new. Good to hear from another oldtimer!!!!!

Haha, love seeing these kinds of threads. Ive been a browser at a few sites and ive decided to join some of them. I love collecting old scool stuff. I have around 50 amps at the monent and i have got to stop soon! I have yet to own a hott set up but im sure i will someday. Whats your fav line of amps from the early 90's?????

Never owned them but if I remember correctly, Precision Power and Orion were the two bigboys back in the early 90's. I think Rockford's Punch line was a little earlier. I gotta look but I think I still have almost every car audio magazine printed from about 88 to 98.

Old school HiFonics, had me a little "thor" that was just amazing.

The speakers I used on the other hand were probably crap, lol.

I guess I'm lucky I could never afford an impressive "whole system" back when I was younger or I would have substantial hearing loss by now, and since my interest in music has morphed into playing acoustic guitar, I would be lost without some of those high freq nuances to keep my interest, but I guess failing that, there's always electric....

I recently ebay'd around for Carver stuff and picked up this itty bitty M200t Mag Field amp, figured I'd bridge it to drive a PA (or sub or what have you), and man that thing defies logic as to how it pumps out the power (light weight too) but the heat output is as impressive.

Nice! I actually grew up like 2 miles from Rockford, guess thats why ive always loved them. Had a friends brother work for them when i was coming out of high school and he used to get me some sweet deals! My fav is the dsm line of amps, the punch 100 was my first real amp. Loved all AZ based companies like Orion, PPI, MTX and Xtant. I was a big fan of the Hifonics amps as well, im pretty much a fan of all zed amps actually. You looking to get rid of those mags??? Amd if your ever in the market for one of them big ppi or orion amps let me know!

Looks like i just joined the club. I have 3 of these amps that I just dug out of the closet, Hott 2.125's. Back in the day it drove an 18" Cerwin Vega XL-18S. I think it was something like 500W RMS of power. That was crazy clean power then. I'm recycling now in my kids car. I know I have the manual somewhere. It had all the specs and different wiring configurations. It also had different system diagrams that talked about stereo & mono hookups at the same time. If you still need it let me know and I'll look for it.
