Ill prob have better luck with this question on DIY but there is some good advise here.

I need a 2 channel

150-175 at 4 ohm

I dont want a bridgeable 4 channel since I only have my front RCA in use right now.

So far I'm leaning toward the Arc KS 300.2, I'm not to sure about the G/H topology since I have no experiance with it. I'm not to happy with the D full ranges.

Not really a budget but I'm not spending Zabco, Mc money.

The build is i need high SQ options for a 150-175 2 channel. It will power a set of Hertz HSKs.

Any amp that provides the power you are looking for without cliping or processing the sound is going to fill the bill my friend. Fact.

If you are running active from your head unit, or running passive with crossovers, anything you buy that can put the power out without clipping will sound EXACTLY the same. Sorry, time to get real. /thread

I know there is very little difference when the same topology is discussed. Class D full range is a different story though. Put a PDX beside a ZED and you WILL hear a difference. Im looking for options. AND opinons on G/H

What would you like to bet that you are wrong? A watt isn't a measure of quality. Topology will change the distortion characteristics of an amplifer, but let's remember, I clearly stated an amplifier producing a non clipped signal. In an A, B, C test you would be the first person out of thousands who could tell a difference. You can win 10k if your ears are really that golden!

Im looking for a in-between. $600-$800 for a 2 channel is not audiopoop budget. But if the G/H is ligit then $400 suits me better

Boston Acoustics GT-2125 or GT-2200 or Aura RPM 2300

Those would be my top choices and they will keep up with any other amp u can buy SQ wise and power wise and they're cheaper. I've run both and the Boston simply is hard to beat, period! Not even "for the price".

As long as you get an amp that does its rated at low THD or an amp with more power than needed for extra headroom (or both) the amp part will be fine. The speakers and processing will play the biggest part. That doesn't mean I agree with the whole "Boss amp will keep up with a McIntosh BS" though. But the Aura or Boston will both do fine.

Then, you've got the JL slash series amps or HD....There's a guy local to me who sells Arc Equipment in his shop and I told him I was thinking of swapping my BA for an Arc and he said I'd be a fool to do so and it would be a complete waste of money and that the BA is probably even a better amp....
