Looking for an amp

Hi,

Im in the process on upgrading my the audio setup of my VW Amarok, currently using or planning to buy,

Headunit: Pioneer AVH-4500BT (already owned)

Sub: JL Audio 10TW3-D4 (recently bought, i dont have space for big sub)

Fronts: Hertz HSK165 6.5" (about to buy)

Rear: Hertz HCX165 6.5" (about to buy)

RCA: Stinger SI8417 RCA 8000 Series (about to buy)

Sub/Amp Kit: Stinger SK6641 4Gauge 6000 Series (about to buy)

Wondering what amp do you guys recommend, i initially was thinking on JL Audio XD1000/5v2, but been browsing in the forums, and seems there are some brands i never heard that are better. My budget for amps is around $1k, but would love to spend less if possible. Was looking into the following,

Incriminator Audio = $858

INCRIMINATOR AUDIO 10.1 MONO BLOCK AMPLIFIER

INCRIMINATOR AUDIO 6.4 FOUR CHANNEL AMPLIFIER

Ampere Audio = $800

AMPERE AUDIO 1000.1 SINGLE CHANNEL AMPLIFIER

AMPERE AUDIO 150.4 4 CHANNEL AMPLIFIER

Twisted Sounds = $620

TWISTED SOUNDS TS1.3KW 1300W MONOBLOCK AMPLIFIER

TWISTED SOUNDS TS150.4 600W 4 CHANNEL AMPLIFIER

What do you suggest? or anything else worth considering?

Thanks for your time and advise,

Those are all great options. Over all those though I would go with the incriminator. They are tried and true and you know it will be an amp that will last many many years with no issues. Ampere is also a great option tho, although a newer company they have been proven to be very reliable and well built amps.

If interested we can get you any IA or Ampere audio amps for a good price.

Brazil is making some decent car audio these days, I don't suppose you can get goods from Brazil with less shipping/taxes built into the price?

All of your choices would be good, but I wonder if you can save some money buying more "local"?

Thanks for the replies.

Locally the best that i can get is MB Quartz and JL Audio, but at 4 times its price. Its the same with computers and home audio, i always have imported the stuff from US, like computer cases, power supplies, HT speakers, i have even imported big subs like SVS 25-35 PCi and PSA XS15 and amps like Emotiva UPA5, among other things, never had an issue. About Brazil, im not too sure it would be much cheaper from the US (i think), mostly because there are shipping companies (freight forward and in this case consolidating containers because of its weight) its way more common to import from the US than from Brazil, there are consolidating container coming to here on the weekly basis from the US, not sure if my broker has any shipping from brazil.
Twisted sounds won't let you down
Thanks for the opinion, Twisted sounds is the best price wise of what im considering atm, its good to see people like it.
Shipping is gonna kill the deal for sure
Shipping is to Florida, US.
Thanks again for all that have replied, appreciate the suggestions and opinions.

Not sure about Ia but nothing on your list will beat the output you'll get from twisted... It's also the only zenon built amp on your list to my knowledge... Most amps that used to be built there like sundown switched build houses because zenon wasn't able to meet there huge needs...

Implying that any of those Korean build houses uses any "new" design or will build any better or worse than the next (provided the branding "company" is willing to pay the price to not cut too many corners).

My thoughts on buying Brazilian wasn't so much shipping, but taxes. I know packages from USA are taxed ruthlessly pretty much everywhere, not so sure about those from Brazil.... .also Brazilian amps are very small for their power output and I've had good luck with them.

Otherwise, IA, Sundown, or Twisted are all about the same tier. They'll all perform as advertised, are reasonably reliable, and will hold decent resale value.

Thanks for the feeback, intersting this zenon thing will reserach more about it.

There are no treaties or anything related from brazil to guatemala that will change the import taxes, to my knowledge is the same as if it comes from the US or Brazil. But will check with broker to be sure. Now you got me interested, where do you buy this brazil amps?

So for you all are very similar? if thats true price will become the biggest factor.

I would add that the IA amps use their own unique designs on amps. They are not in the same class as twisted and ampere. The ampere and twisted are off the shelf boards with varied components to the co.panies specs. The IA amps are custom tooled boards and components for IA. Just my two cents. I'm a IA amp but hugger though.

Thanks for The feedback.

Just wondering guys, going with either of these amps would net a perceivable difference over going with the JL Audio 1000/5v2 on the setup I posted? I'm not planning on upgrading this setup anymore than what I buy now.

JL is very expensive, but a good product. They actually do their own R&D and they will do what they claim, perform well, hold re-sale value, and be reliable for many years.

ALL the Korean made amps (AB, DC, DD, SQ, Ampere, Twisted, IA, Sundown, Atomic, Cactus, etc. etc. etc.) are pretty much the same whether or not the physical layout is a little different. Mostly these designs are proven performers but the technology is quite old. You could arrange the order of that list with those that are more capable of handling abuse or extreme competition applications, but for practical purposes they're all about the same IMO.

If you don't have trade treaties with Brazil and you're paying high for their imports too, it's probably less appealing to go with them. That said, Stetsom, Taramps, Soundigital are the three big brand names for Brazilian amps. Google to see if you have local dealers or if they ship direct. There are also dealers on this board who could ship to your shipping agent in Florida if you like their lineup.
