Looking for an amp that is stable bridged at 2 ohms

I only have a pair of polk db6501 components up front, an alpine 9776 hu, and a rf punch 400.4 amp, and 1 jl 12w1 series 4 ohm sub. This amp is running everything.

I am looking to get a more powerful amp, that will give my components more power, and I want to bridge the rear channels to run my sub, which will be a dvc 4ohm sub wired to 2 ohms.

So, I need an amp that is 2 ohm stable in bridged mode, and can run an entire system like I am proposing.

I welcome all suggestions on amps for this purpose.

I do not want a 5 channel amp, as I think that may be overkill.

I was thinking the ppi 900.4, but it doesn't seem it is 2 ohm stable bridged.

Please help!!

Thanks,

PittViper

crescendo makes a 1000.4 but honestly... just get a 5ch... lol if you still feel you dont want to do things correctly... alot of 4ch amps are 2ohm stable... that amp you got should also be 2ohm stable...

Without a doubt ppi 900.4 big powa little package 2ohm stable bridged 186.00 $ shipped makes 245+ rms per channel at 2. I have one running a set of infinity kappa comps AND 4 neo pro 8's and it is freakin crazy how much sound that little amp puts out.

Thanks so far for the advice. So, it seems that one of you think 5 channel is the way to go, for only 3 speakers. So, I guess I would bridge 4 channels of a 5 channel into 2 to run the front components, and use the 5th channel for the sub.

If that is correct, which amp would you recommend for both decent power and sq? I wanted the ppi 900.5, but cannot find it anywhere. But even looking at that amp, I wasn't sure how to wire it to run the 3 proposed channels. Basically, I don't want to screw up the wiring. So, any specific instructions on how to wire a 5 ch amp to 3 ch's would be appreciated.

Now, to your suggestions. I don't really want to spend much more than the 229 I was going to pay for the ppi. Does anybody know who online has that amp in stock for this price?

Ciao

I think (?) I am set on getting a 5 channel, bridging the front and rear to two channels to run the front components, and of course the 5th channel running the sub.

Once I get this elusive amp, I probably will have a question or two on how to hook it up and set it up so I don't destroy the amp or my system, lol.

I have just happened upon a Polk Audio PA D5000.5 for 349.00. It seems like a really good amp, but I would have to save longer for it. Do you think it is worth that kind of money or is there a comparable in quality amp for much less?

Super clean,Italian made amp...
