In the front stage for my Tahoe I have: MB Quart QSD 6 1/2" (2 per side) getting 40-125 hz, 5 1/4" getting 150-3.2 , Tweeters getting 3.2 and up plus a subwoofer in the center consule for bass with a JL audio 10w3 all getting 100 watts rms via Zapco C2K 4.0amplifiers.
I plan to put 150 watts rms via Zapco 6.0x to the mids (this is currently running 2 jl audio 10w6v2's) and keep the same crossover points possibly or move them up a tad if I need to and bridge the subwoofer to give it 300 wrms. I am very happy with how they sound now but I figure more power is always better.
For the subwoofer in the middle consule, I plan to create a custom box and put in one of the JL Audio 10w6's from the back if space permits.
Then I plan to get a Zapco 9.0x with 2200 wrms to power my subwoofer(s). I would like suggestions on a really nice subwoofer or subwoofer combination that will move considerably more air than my current dual 10's while keeping pretty good sound quality. I like the extra bass of a vented box but since I will have 2200 wrms and everything behind the middle seat in my Tahoe for space I think I want to go with sealed boxe(s) and 18' sub(s). For a subwoofer budget I would like to keep it under $1,000.00 for sure and spending several hundred less would be a plus.
I like my music bass-heavy anyway but want to be able to some serious air when showing the system off.
If I decide to compete the front subwoofer will do the job for the testing.
