This should be an easy one for you guys!
I replaced my car radio/CD player with one that also plays MP3s (for audio books). On average, every third time I start my car, I loose all the radio settings (including where in the book it left off).
My guess is that –sometimes- when I start (or shut off?) the car, the mp3 player looses power for a fraction of a second, and that is long enough to loose its settings.
The solution I have thought would work is to put a mini UPS (uninterruptible power supply) between the yellow power wire and the ground leading to the radio. These UPS only needs to provide power for 1 second and perhaps get rid of line spikes.
I can’t be the only one looking for this, so I assume this product already exists. Any recommendations?
Thanks.
