Looking for a processor

So I guess all those world class SQ competitor installs **** balls, since the majority of them use 32 band processing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I agree for most people a 7-band unit like this would likely be plenty. But to imply anything more is the sign of a poor install is simply not true at all.
I've read less EQing, the better. I wasn't aware they used that much processing, but point taken. =)

The less EQ'ing the better is a general rule yes, but that generally means in cut and boost, not necessarily the number of bands of control. Ultimately the ideal install and speakers would require absolutely no EQ'ing to sound natural. But we dont posses perfect speakers, nor is the inside of a car even close to an ideal listening environment. 1/3 octaves are popular because they, in combination with an RTA of the same bands, can fine tune a system very precisely. But yes a real pro who knows what he is doing in an install that is set up well, should not be required to adjust any band much. And for the most part, you shuld always cut, not boost, but thats another discussion for another thread.

I would buy a 360.2 in a heartbeat if I was sure the Bluetooth issue was solved.
I've heard these units have problems and the bluetooth stops working.. one reason why I wanted to look at other options..

So far the PPI DCX730 is the only suggestion.. I thought alpine might have something but my dealer didn't have anything that will work without going to an Alpine deck.. I might use the Behringer DCX/DEQ's I have (and 12v powersupplies to mod them) but they are a bit bulky and I'd rather keep them for my HT setup..

I'll be setting this up using time gated MLS response curves.. much more advanced then an RTA.. and I'll guarentee everyone that I'll need more then 7bands of EQ to tweek things just right..

I'd be happy to hear any more suggestions if anyone has any..

There's the H701 DSP, which can be controlled by the C701. The C701 is a single din sized controller that can be installed in the dash, or hidden away. Problem is you just have to find one.

Have you heard anything of the higher line version ? I keep hearing rumors, but nothing set in stone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
What what i've read (i know i shouldn't believe everything read), it's seems to be a gamble with the bit1 at the moment.

Some have problems and some don't.

I know of two local folks here in socal with the bit1. one is running the bit1 problem-free, and one is waiting on a replacement...
