looking for a pair of 10s or 12s

hello all I am looking to get a pair of 10s or 12s. I listen to mostly rock. I like my bass tight and accurate but i also like it to get loud. So in essence i guess im looking for SQL. I few names come to mind such as the Fi Q, Type X, W6, W7, IDQ and others. Im not looking for anything more than 1kw per sub. My price range is about 500 a sub or less(preferable less) I am open to any suggestions as well. Please also list amp reccomendations too. Bare in mind i am not looking to purchase anything right now. I am strictly doing research at the moment. Thank you

Edit: I do have a small trunk so probably less than 1 cube per sub ported or sealed

You're going to think I'm crazy, but the JL8W7 a friend had in a 1cf box ported was retarded loud in his Dakota. 2 of those might not be to bad. Seriously!

Other then that, for me the tried and true TREO SSi10.xx would do.

If you're looking for tight and accurate bass, then the ultimate woofer is the Stereo Integrity Mag 12, the woofer simply disappears and you have the bottom end of your dreams and it still plays stinkin loud.

I am not a fan of the JL because of it's characteristic sound it has due to the design...I'll leave it at that....It's simply not "tight" in my opinion, no matter how many advertisements they take out in the magazines, just like Bose, if you take out enough ads you finally convince the world that your product is the ultimate in sound quality.

I'll concur. I never really looked at it that way. Kinda like you don't know what you've got till its gone. Don't know what you're missing if you've never had it.
