Sundown SD-1 10s - should I repair or replace?

I have a pair of SD-1 10s and recently one of them has started making a loud popping sound whenever the bass hits hard. Up until this started happening I really liked these subs, but now it sounds like one of them may be bad.

I thought about just replacing them, but after looking on Sundown's website, it appears they no longer make 10" subs. I wonder if I could just send them the pair I have for repair?

I think I only paid like $45 a piece for these subs when I bought them new and I don't know if I could find a new pair that sound as good without spending a lot more for them. The SDs are really nice sounding subs (that is, when they're not bad).

What do you guys think, should I have them repaired, or replace them? Thing is, I wouldn't know what to repalce them with.

Just so you know, my sub amp is pushing between 500 and 600 watts.

Honestly the re-cone will cost about as much as you paid for them -- the company that made them for us is in the USA so drop-ins are fairly pricey from them.
I guess I'll just replace them then. I wonder what caused the sub to blow? I occassionally play them loud, but I certainly don't abuse them. I wonder if they were getting too much power, or maybe the sub that went bad just had something about it that was a little weak?
