Looking for a new sub. Need help!

I currently have a rockford fosgate punch 501s 1500w 2ch amplifier, and im looking to buy a sub or a pair of subs for my car and im looking to spend about 250 max. What do yall suggest is tha best sub setup for my amp? I thought about getting 2 alpine type r 10's, help please.

You don't have nearly enough power for a pair of Type Rs. The amp does 250 watts x2 @ 2 ohms or 500 watts rms x1 @ 4 ohms.

One Type R would be okay (make sure it's 2 ohm dvc), or you could buy a pair of these. ARC10D4 - ARC Audio 10" 500 Watt Dual 4-Ohm Subwoofer

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Alpine. Their cd/dvd players are awesome, MRP & PDX amplifiers are solid, Type R and Type X subwoofers are nice and the Type X components are quality.

I just don't like the brand in general.... yes they make quality stuff.. but IMO as I stated.. but who cares what i think if you like them.. doesnt matter what i think ha ha!

Also I had gotten for cheap a Kicker CV-R 12 dvc 4 ohm and it did not hit nearly as hard as it should, i blew out the fuse in my battery then the sub blew out with it. If i got a 500w 4ohm sub, should i get a 12 or a 10. I have a custom box made already for a 12, Thanks for the advice tho.

In all honestly bro.. I had a big problem with my old car it was a 00, and the 01 stang is the same way.. Your going to have to have some good power back there backed up with some beefy subs to really get some good bass into the car..

I would honestly consider upgrading to a bigger amp.. and pick out either those subs if you really like them or get some 'other subs' around the same price...

Problem with those year's in ford is their trunks are way to sealed off..

How much output do you expect from a single Kicker CVR if you don't mind me asking? They are entry level subwoofers, ya know.

- If you get a single sub, you'll need a 2 ohm dvc or 4 ohm svc driver in order to obtain a 4 ohm load.

- If I was going to use only 1 sub, and cared about loudness, I'd probably buy the biggest sub I could fit into my vehicle.

- Any sub you buy will perform better if you have an enclosure built to it's recommended specifications.

I knew the kicker sub wasnt anything special. Would this jl sub be a good fit for my amp? I care more about quality but id like to have a bit of loudness. Should I go with a 12' or 10'? Sorry for all the questions im just tryna get wat this amp can handle then eventually get a new one.

I think you could do better for the price.. than those JL's

Cerwin-Vega V-MAX102 (vmax102) - Sonic Electronix (Back order youd have to look around for them)

or

JBL P1022 10" Dual 2 ohm Power Series Subwoofer (These take all the way up to 800RMS but work fine at rated or anywhere in between... and you can get cheaper.. on Ebay and other places.. for like $100bucks..

or I would say these but you'd be under powering them by 100 W and bet you anything you would drive them into clipping by turning the gain too high..
