Looking for a new set of subs. Since researching here i'm a little lost

So, i'm not a stereo expert, so alot of these brands i'm seeing on here are pretty new.

Like most of the main stream I heard about JL's. and thats all I had in my trunk. W3's, W6's.

My last set up was 2 12' w6's in a ported box tuned to 32 hertz or so. It's sounded nice. I sold them.

So my thought on my new car was to get 2 10'' 0r 12'' w7's in a ported box. I liked my 6's but I was looking for alittle more bass, and lows. But now i've heard that i'm one of the many that have bought into great advertising.

So my question is I see alot of people saying you can get better subs for less money than W7's what subs would these exactly be?

Or i'm looking for subs that sound as nice or better then my W6's but get louder.

I have jl 1000/1 amp right now could get another one if needed. or sell it and buy a just as good but cheaper amp?

he's previously owned a lot of jl and had shops do most of the work, i'd say he can afford most any suggestions we had in reasonable variation to alternatives for jl.

from what I read here, I understand what the two mean, but to choose I don't know.

I'm not trying to win comps, or impress everyone with my windows down.

what i'm after is I want to beat pretty hard, but sound good. not any DD 95000's .So I don't know exactly what I should be searching for "sorry pretty big newbie" what it comes to this.

Thats where I thought the W7 would be perfect it's suppost to be a sq sub that beats hard. I'm not a pro so it can be off in both sq and spl and I probley wont know. I'm looking for a blend of both I read that it don't work like that but there has to be a middle ground here with one sub.

So is there a sq sub that beats hard, or a spl sub that sounds good and isn't just trying to be the loudest?

yes, there are many subs that combine a mix of the 2. I will speak about a brand I have quite a bit of experience with, Treo. Many of their subs are offered as "sql" subs. SSi are likely the most comparable to w6/7. Soundstream makes some good SQ subs, IDQ as well

i would go with the incriminator audio subs. any of them man. just depending on what you want to spend. the death row and death penalty's have been considered a great sql sub! or spl! but if you want straight sq go with the flatlynes. and the lethal injections have amazing low end, as well as their entry level 187 series.

correct, on some. my budget would be on par with w7's price $500 a sub lower the better, but I could spend that, not needed though.

I did most of the work, I had the boxs made. I did the rest usually rushed shotty work. Not now my front comps install looks tight,shit is clean. so does all my wiring. Just took a weeked and did it right.

I see there are some recommendations, i'll have to do some research. Thanks guys.

oh btw I didn't touch my 05 range rover that the w6's were in that was all pro work funk that noise, most people didn't want to touch it, and I had to take it to a place that did all the pro base/basketball players rides.

I just installed 0/1 wire from Knukoncepts, I have a 200 amp alternator, I'm going to do the big 3, and I was planning to throw a optima in the trunk, and maybe replace the diehard up front to?

If moneys not an issue you should throw in kinetik bro, yellow tops arent any good here. and if you havent already sound deadning gives you a nice little jump in sound too.
