I'm looking for a new amp to power 2 12" JL W6's (v1, not v2). the recommended specs are 300W rms each and I have them wired for 1.5ohms (parallel, parallel) I've been told the best would be a 1ohm stable mono amp and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on an amp that would fit that descirption.

thanks for the suggestions, i had one more quick question. although i believe i know the answer... better safe than sorry. I have this system connected to 3 capacitors and was wondering if this changes the type of amp i should get, or does it not matter because the caps are wired into the system before the amp/subs, etc.

well forget about the last comment... after reading a few threads on caps, looks like i might be tossing those //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

I have an absolute tank of an amp that would be perfect for your application. Its a Diamond D6 1000.1 in 9/0 cosmetically, and thats being slightly ****, and 10/10 functionally. Its ratings are 250@4ohms, 500@2ohms, and 1000@1ohm, but these were underrated and at one ohm you could realistically get upwards of 1200 watts. So, at 1.5 ohms, according to the specs, you will be looking at 750 watts. The gain knob(as well as everything else on this beauty) works fine and headroom is a lovely thing!

I wish I had some pics but I'm at work now. This line of amps were overbuilt, underrated and very high end. They used 8awg cables on the internals. It has a huge aluminum heatsink with large fins. You could literally stand on this beast and cause no damage whatsoever. I almost forgot to mention it's footprint, approximately 10.5x11". Finding space to mount it shouldn't be a problem.

Its been a while since I've sold anything on here so I don't have any buyer/seller ratings but you should be able to find some feedback on me with a search. Pm me if you are interested and we can discuss the details including price, which will be well within, or I should say well below, your budget!

by new i meant new for me, i'm willing to check out used and new options. I bought the system of a co-worker who was running the two on a Memphis 1500.1, which blew very soon after I got the system hooked up. I am currently running the W6's on a Pioneer 2-channel GM-X552 amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif which i think is rated at 300w peak. So anything would be an improvement!
