looking for a little intell

I am starting to work on a system... BUT want some info 1st for guy that are still in the game.. been a long time doing a nice system.

i have a Mark VIII and has all stock sh*t. got to go.

So i was looking at puting 4 Rockford Fosgate T1682 6X8 in and amp them with a Rockford Fosgate T400-4 on the inside,, then 2 MTX T8510-04 Subs with a T500-1bd pushing them...

i know MTX subs were good back in the day (thank they still are)

but the Rockford Fosgate T1682 6X8, IDK tryed to hear them at the store BUT guy didn't have the working (SAYS THERE NEW to 2010) idk.

iam looking for a all around good sound out of the car.. don't what to blow the windows out *( been there done that ) so any intell you can give would be took... TY and hope to help you guy out some were along the line

OO YA and i NEED a good par or 2" tweeter.. have not fond any yet and plezz need heads up on that.

dont do 6x8 just get 6.5" componets and put them in the 6x8 plates, youll get beter sound

^^ this definitely.... The components will treat you much better, look into sets like the Phoenix Gold RSD's, Precision Power (can't remember model # off the top of my head), Morel Tempo 6 can be bought at good prices, Image Dynamics CTX65's and many many many more can be named... the components will be better sounding.... also, MTX still makes good stuff but you could probably find better ones for the same price or less.... Sundown SA12's, Fi SSD's or Q's, Incriminator Audio Lethal Injections, SoundSolutionsAudio Icons..... there's alot of newer brands out there that offer incredible performance per $$$ spent.... Sundown amps are great and generally more efficient than the Rockford's as well....

Keep looking around and asking, I think you'll find the answers you're seeking...

components are going to give you clearer sound.

and there is nothing wrong with rockford or mtx. rockford makes some great equipment imo. there are just a lot of brands, mostly internet based ones, that will give you the same if not better performance for less $.

some one let me know what some of this new kick as* brands are.... i have a feeling iam going to do more then i was 1st thank to this car now..

I'd stay AWAY from the Hifonics speakers...... I HAVE a few sets of Hifonics speakers and only one set has been worth the $$$ and they don't make them anymore..... the rest are way too bright and tinny.... the amps aren't half bad for the $$$, but it's been my experience the speakers leave alot to be desired....

None of the brands you are considering are kick ***. Some of them are mediocre, some are below average, to be honest.

the best place to start is what kind of budget you're looking at, that really tells us what kind of equipment we can recommend for you.... for most people a really decent setup to start out with starts at around $1000 for the whole thing, HU, speakers, amps, subs, sound deadening, installation gear, etc.... but even $1000 is on the cheaper side of decent.... $1500 gets the ball rolling fairly good.....

Iknow iam going to try going with ether 3way or Component System i know Component System are going to be the better way to go for sure..

what about Boston Acoustics?? or Clarion??

a guy at mickey shores was trying to talk me in to Kenwood eXcelon ... thay any good??

Kenwood is acceptable for source units, BA is acceptable for speakers, and anyting above Hifonics quality will suffice for gain blocks. Aim for this, or higher. And stay away from Tiger Woods' driveway.

I have 2 of the Kenwood eXcelon HU's.... like them alot... speakers and subs are on par with most other major store brands.... like I said.... your budget tells the story on what can be recommended.....

Audioholic is right..... need to aim at those points at the BARE minimum for your money to be well spent for the most part.....
